Istanbul: Ortaköy - Istanbul Bosphorus Bridge

Just beyond Ortakoy the ferries pass under the Bogazici Koprusu, the Bosphorus Bridge, whose graceful span arcs across to the hills on the south of the village of Beylerbey on the Asian shore. The bridge opened on 27th October, the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic.
It is 1074 metres in the length between the two great piers on the opposing continental shores, its roadway 64 metres above the water at the centre of its span
