Berlin: area by area - East of the Centre - Marx-Engels Forum

This vast, eerily square, stretching from the Fernsehturn to the Spree River, was given the inappropriate name Marx-Engels Forum.
Devoid of any surroundings, the only features in this square are the statues of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, Marx sits and Engels stands, seemingly staring the TV tower.
The statues added in 1986 are by Ludwig Engelhart.
